The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC World Off Road Championship Series will undergo changes for 2005. The series will split into two separate circuits, one for motorcycles and another one for quads. With the split, the WORCS program will offer the nation's lone quad-only national off-road series.
In '05, the WORCS ATV schedule will visit eight tracks in six states. It will visit the Oak Hill MX Park for the season finale in November, 2005. Oak Hill was the locale for Round 13 this season. Along with Oak Hill, we visited Clay Peaks MX park in Payette, Idaho, for Round 10 of the series.
Here's a recap of the two rounds and more about the WORCS series.
Round 10--Idaho
As a prelude to the separate ATV series in 2005, Clay Peaks MX track in Payette, Idaho, hosted the first only-ATV WORCS race at Round 10. The three-day event had other firsts as well, including new classes. We especially loved the youth classes. WORCS officials said the ATV attendance figures numbered close to 200 among the 28 classes that were offered.

As with many of the races he enters, pro Doug Eichner proved to be the man to beat in Idaho. He dominated his class each time out. Eichner faced the stiffest competition from Josh Frederick and Jeff Bocook. These three riders also stood on the podium at the end of the pro action on the final day of racing.
