Arguably the most impressive and important art and antiques fair in Europe takes place this year from March 10 until March 19 in the Dutch border city of Maastricht. This year, its nineteenth, the European Fine Art Foundation's fair has expanded to include 218 dealers, an increase of nine percent over the number of exhibitors in 2005. The principal sponsor is the insurance company AXA Art, and although there is no loan exhibition at the fair an exhibition entitled Extravagant: Refinement in Devotion is on view at the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht until April 9. In addition there are special music and dance performances in the city.
