KARL Lagerfeld holds forth on men in skirts, tight clothes that `make you thin', dressing in rival label Dior and Japanese in Chanel fashion at the opening of the world's largest Chanel boutique in Tokyo recently. DAZMAN MANAN was there.

HE can be temperamental, we were warned, and may just brush off questions he doesn't like as plain stupid. Why, he may even change his mind at the last minute and not give any interviews at all! So, as we - the chosen ones - elbowed our way through the crowd of 2,000 who attended the Chanel spring/summer 2005 fashion show to meet fashion genius Karl Lagerfeld or Kaiser Karl as the fashion Press have dubbed him, we didn't know what to expect. After all, we had been warned! "I'm a very moody person. I can be in a bad mood five minutes from now," said the revered chief designer for Chanel when a pretty TV host, clad head-to-toe in the French brand, asked what mood he was in.
