Advertising on the net has rebounded from the lows of the dot.com bust and this year will surpass the $8.1 billion US record it set in 2000. Internet ads remain a small part of overall advertising, but are one of the fastest-growing sectors. They will continue to grow rapidly because new technology enables advertisers to take advantage of the high-speed broadband connections that 26 million American homes now have.
