Lenovo Group stayed silent Friday about reports it is talking with IBM Corp. about buying the U.S. company's personal computer business, but an executive hinted that the Chinese company is looking to expand its PC operations.
The New York Times, citing unnamed sources, reported on its Internet Web site Friday that IBM plans to sell its personal computer business and was in talks with Lenovo on a possible deal.
Spokesmen at Lenovo's Beijing headquarters and Hong Kong offices did not return calls Friday.
