FDI to Bulgaria at 1.079bn for the first nine months
BULGARIA'S current account deficit dropped to EUR 568 million at the end of he third quarter, an improvement of 23.3% compared to the situation one year before that. The current account gap was equal to 2.9% of the country's GDP at end-September 2004, compared to 4.2% at end-September 2003.
The current account registered a surplus of EUR 46.9 million for September 2004, compared to a surplus of 10.8 million for September 2003.
Central Bank's forex reserves rose by EUR 901.6 million for the period from January to September 2004, as compared to December 2003, according to the country's balance of payments provided by the National Bank of Bulgaria. the rise was only EUR 524.7 million for the corresponding period last year, as compared to end-2002.
