The liquefied natural gas shipping joint venture between Russia Sovcomflot and Japan's NYK aims to double the number of vessels under its control during the next five years.
The joint venture currently has four newbuildings on order.
Last month, NYK and Sovcomflot signed up to build two 147,000 cu m LNG carriers for the Shell-led Sakhalin II project at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2007, and partners also have an option on a third newbuilding.
