SYDNEY, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar firmed this morning to be stronger at noon after a report on local economic growth was not as weak as expected.
At 1200 AEDT the local unit was trading at $US0.7771/76 compared to 0.7760/63 at yesterday's close.
This morning it reached a low of $US0.7732 and a high of 0.7775.
St George foreign exchange trading manager Stuart Moore said the Australian dollar had strengthened this morning on a gross domestic product (GDP) report for the September quarter.
"It's a little bit higher - it's coincided with a stronger euro as well, after the last couple of days of weak data," he said.
"The initial data was obviously weaker than expected, but with the revision to the second quarter making up for that."
