THE STAR:
- Malaysia's economy is on track to achieve the official target of 7% growth this year following good expansion in the third quarter ending September.
- Antah Holdings Bhd plans to list two subsidiaries on Bursa Malaysia next year, acquire a controlling stake in a construction-based company and divest existing non-core assets as part of its strategy to streamline operations.
- Sime Darby Bhd reported a higher net profit of RM261.8mil for the first quarter ended Sept 30 compared with RM252.5mil in the corresponding period a year earlier.
- The Transport Ministry is waiting for Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia to inform it of the outcome of negotiations to work out a cooperation arrangement, said Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy.
- October money supply expands by 10.7% Malaysia's broadest measure of money in circulation expanded in October at its fastest pace since June as banks extended more loans to consumers and companies.
