AUSTRALIA KEEN TO SET UP COAL-FIRED POWER PLANTS IN PAKISTAN.
KARACHI, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Australia has shown interest in putting up 1,000 MW power plants to be operated on Thar coal.
"I have received a letter from Australian authorities showing interest in setting up two 1,000 MW coal-fired power plants in Thar," disclosed Sindh Minister for Mines and Mineral Resources, Irfanullah Khan Marwat.
He said that Australians have picked up data about coal-based power plants from the Internet and they have shown the desire to visit Pakistan for physical inspection of the area as well as to get more data.
