Manager Han Berger and Oita Trinita agreed to part ways at the end of the year after the J.League first division club told the Dutchman that it wants to head in a new direction.

No replacement for Berger was named, although Oita officials said Tuesday that they hope to be able to make an announcement by mid-December.

However, Takayuki Tateishi, head of development at Oita, said the team wants Berger, the former technical director of Dutch first division side Utrecht, to stay on as an adviser.
