TO EASE the cost burdens of the public transport sector, 219 various fuel stations are now offering discount on diesel.

From only 154 stations last week, the number of service stations providing diesel price markdowns had increased to 219, Energy Secretary Vincent Perez said. All 219 stations are selling diesel at 50 centavos lower per liter.

"And the number is growing as oil companies are afraid to lose their market due to intense competition," he said in a statement yesterday.
