CEBU CITY-The municipality of Moalboal has declared itself in a state of calamity after the town was struck by a gastroenteritis outbreak that killed two people and took ill at least 256 people.

The municipal council, upon the prodding of Mayor Inosentes Cabaron, passed a resolution during a special session yesterday declaring all the town's 15 barangays in a state of calamity.

The declaration would enable the local government to release its calamity fund for the victims, ...
