OLSEN Racela is just three steals away from accomplishing another feat, barely three weeks after reaching his second Philippine Basketball Association milestone.
But joining the elite 500-steals club will only be secondary to Racela's list of priorities when San Miguel Beer faces FedEx tonight in the Gran Matador PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
Though the cerebral playmaker is in a tight race to become the 15th player in league history to achieve such a feat, Racela is currently focused more on his team's pursuit than of his own.
"It will come and you won't even notice it. Right now, my focus is to help San Miguel win as many games as we could," said Racela, whose PBA career blossomed after being traded from Purefoods in the late 90s.
Racela broke into the elite 5,000-point circle during San Miguel Beer's 88-82 out-of-town victory over Purefoods three weeks ago in Tacloban City. Late in the Fiesta Conference, he reached the 2,000-assist plateau.
