(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
PIKIT, North Cotabato-An adviser of President Macapagal-Arroyo expressed confidence a peace agreement would be signed with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, saying there are no more contentious issues blocking a pact.
Teresita Deles, adviser on the peace process, said the issues being discussed by the two panels, including ancestral domain, were not difficult to resolve.
She said adherence of both sides to the ceasefire agreement has also contributed to the strengthening of the peace process.
There has been no major clash between the military and the MILF in recent months.
Asked when the much-anticipated peace talks would resume, Deles said the government has not received any word from Kuala Lumpur yet.
The Malaysian government, which has been hosting the peace negotiations, has been mum on the schedule of the talks but some government officials and rebel leaders said it could resume early next year.
