Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - Participants in the ongoing Global WASH Forum in Dakar on Monday afternoon directed their attention on the effectiveness of investments in the water and sanitation sectors and the target population's capital absorption capacity.

The theme of the Global WASH Forum, which opened Monday morning is "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for All-Local and National Solutions."

According to Mira Mata of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), about US$7 billion were required in 2002 to attain the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
