SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae on Monday denied a report that the government will send a special envoy of President Roh Moo-hyun to North Korea by the end of the year to produce a breakthrough in the standoff over the North's nuclear weapons ambitions.

""It is not true that the government is seeking to dispatch a presidential envoy to North Korea,"" Roh's deputy spokesman Kim Man-soo said. ""It is also untrue that President Roh has already been briefed on it.""
