Hillier appeals, says evidence 'weak'.

A Chisholm man found guilty on Friday of murdering his former partner lodged an appeal yesterday.

A jury in the ACT Supreme Court found Steven Wayne Hillier, 41, guilty of the 2002 murder of 35-year- old Ana Louise Hardwick, the mother of Hillier's two children.

The appeal will go before the ACT Court of Appeal next year, probably in March, but will not affect Hillier's sentencing in February.

In appealing against the verdict, Hillier's defence team said the evidence had been too weak for a guilty verdict to stand.

Ms Hardwick was found strangled in her Isabella Plains bedroom on October 2, 2002. Her bedroom …
