A Cornish MP has challenged rail chiefs to reassure commuters that the Cornwall mainline is not be turned into a branch line from Plymouth.
St Ives MP Andrew George has written to Ms Suzanne McCarthy, chief executive of the Office of Rail Regulation, and to Alison Forster, managing director of First Great Western Trains, to seek reassurances about the future of high-speed through services from Penzance to Paddington.
