A congressional subcommittee left the Henderson Convention Center on Friday with some ideas for slowing the upward spiral of gasoline prices and preventing a fuel crisis.
But first they heard testimony about how high gasoline prices have climbed.
Gasoline prices have soared 60 cents since January in Nevada, Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev., said.
Demand for gasoline is increasing faster than supplies, driving up prices, explained Joe Sparano, president of the Western States Petroleum Association.
"We're operating pretty much at full capacity," Sparano said.
