The selectors dropped a heavy clanger in the omission of Kerry's Mick O'Connell. He should have been an automatic choice at midfield.

Much as I admired the excellent play of Galway's left corner forward, Seamus Leydon, I just cannot understand the omission of Mick O'Dwyer. Of all the boobs pulled, however, surely the choice of Cork's Ray Cummins at centre half-forward takes the biscuit. Has he ever played in the position at top level?"
