True snowbirds; White pelicans flock to Sarasota golf course.(H-T SOUTH)

A flock of white pelicans descends onto the lake along the fourth fairway of the Tournament Players Club golf course in Prestancia every morning and evening during the winter.

Residents of the Country Club of Sarasota whose back yards spill into the lake watch them religiously. They snap photographs, know their eating and sleeping habits, and migratory patterns.

"They all come in at once, and it's this huge splash and ruckus," said Nancy Seida, who has lived at the country club for seven years. "They block out the sun."
