Blaming Jim McGreevey's moral-less actions on American society's inequity of being forced to live in a closet does not cause McGreevey to reflect on his behaviors nor excuse them ["Crushed by the Closet," September 28]. That is like Bill Bennett trying to blame his gambling behavior on the Christian distaste for gambling. Giving Golan Cipel a job within New Jersey's homeland defense was gross patronage and obsession. McGreevey acted as a man who felt liberated and powerful and free enough to do as he damn well pleased. I personally feel more sympathy...
