Lawan Chumsai na Ayutthaya. Lina Damon. Call her what you want. What's for sure is that whether as group programme director for Virgin Radio Thailand, DJ for Smooth FM 105, MC or as a mother, she's bound to exude the same amount of joie de vivre.

Why do you have two names? And which is your real one?When I was at Abac studying business administration, I was offered a job on the radio with FM 107. At that time, it was a jazz station called "The Quiet Storm" and it was the first English language station. Around 10 years prior to that, there was one called HSA radio but a government decree banned English radio for awhile. The Quiet Storm came on air around 1980 and it was the first English station that had returned.

So before I finally decided that Business Administration really wasn't for me, I had to agree with the producers to use my Catholic confirmation name, which is Lina, instead of my Thai name (Lawan) since the programmes weren't going to be produced locally. So due to the confining laws of that time, I was obliged to use my foreign name.
