Regarding the article "Racism alive in Canada "(CNT, Oct. 10, 2004), in expressing frustration at racism, Joan Munson's expression of shame may actually be a form of discrimination. She is generalizing about a group.

To combat forms of discrimination and to understand them, we should become familiar with a remarkable new book by Robert Fuller. In Somebodies and Nobodies, Fuller explains how 'rankism' is the mother of all 'isms'.

Choosing dominance over justice is the common factor in our mistreatment of groups, whether by religion, ethnicity, race, gender, age or region. Robert Fuller explains how subordinating others relates to bullying, war and terrorism.
