CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- An innovative character education program at Charlotte's J.H. Gunn Elementary School, which has helped improve the academic performance of its students, has caught the eye of a local electric cooperative and the Carolina Panthers. The project entitled "J.H. Gunn Character Education Bags" has won $1,800 Bright Ideas education grant from Union Power Cooperative based in Monroe. The money will be used to purchase books that teach respect, responsibility, honesty, caring, justice, citizenship, courage and perseverance.
