Mobile Tire Lab revisits General's OE customers
Housing sophisticated diagnostic equipment, as well as a three-man crew of engineers, General Tire's Mobile Tire Dynamics Lab is once again on the road to conduct quality assurance testing for the tiremaker's original equipment customers.
The 34-foot fifth-wheel trailer-laboratory, bolstered by a recent equipment investment of $125,000, is now making the rounds to automobile manufacturing facilities and test tracks for the sixth year in a row.
At each of these sites Frank Myers, section manager for tire dynamics engineering, and his team randomly inspect and test cars for tire and wheel integrity as they come off the assembly line.
