ORLANDO, FLA. -- Counseling aimed at preventing sexually transmitted diseases can be expected to reduce HIV infection rates, reported Dr. John Beltrami and his colleagues in a poster at the annual meeting of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
An analysis of nearly 6,000 clients of a DeKalb County, Ga., STD clinic for 1997-1999 showed a significant correlation between contracting HIV and having another STD.
