Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams could be ideal for the BROWNS in a platoon system. Reuben Droughns is a feisty power runner with limited moves and speed. He must be kept fresh. Williams' moves conjure images of Barry Sanders. He would be an effective contrast to Droughns and give the Browns a home run threat they lacked in 2005.... Former Packers C Mike Flanagan bolsters the TEXANS' line. One of the most respected centers in the game, Flanagan is athletic and excels at picking up stunts and blitzes, lie takes over for Steve McKinney, who moves to left guard. There are concerns, however, about Flanagan's ability to hold up at age 32.... DOLPHINS CB Will Allen (Giants) doesn't have great hands and had only one interception the past two seasons, but he is a solid cover man who is technically sound and a decent tackler.... The RAIDERS' offense won't change with the arrival of QB Aaron Brooks (Saints). He will be asked to get the ball to WR Randy Moss as often as possible. Like Kerry Collins, Brooks doesn't complete a high percentage of his passes. But he doesn't throw as many interceptions as Collins and is a much more effective runner.... They also plan to use the draft to improve their speed, and it's a point of emphasis in the offseason program. The Titans believe they hurt the Colts, division rivals, by signing away Thornton, a dedicated player and solid tackler.... The JETS will run a multiple-front defense. When they use a 3-4, the nose tackle will be Dewayne Robertson, who gets the job by default. Robertson has the size (6-1, 317) and strength to play the nose, but he's better suited to a 4-3 role in which he shoots gaps and gets upfield. Coach Eric Mangini seems intent on making a gradual transition to a 3-4.... The CHIEFS had been grooming Ronnie Cruz to take over at fullback, and he'll likely get the chance to now that Tony Richardson has signed with the Vikings. Cruz doesn't have Richardson's ability as a lead blocker or pass protector, though he could develop those skills.... The CHARGERS believe Quentin Jammer was their best cornerback in 2005. But he doesn't routinely make plays on the ball. Jammer is a good tackler whose aggressiveness could translate well to strong safety. The Chargers might try to move him there after this season, though he says he doesn't want to make the ...
