Here are some haunting images of 2004 we wish we could forget: almost daily attacks on American soldiers and Iraqi innocents, hostage beheadings, Abu Ghraib atrocities. Not to mention Bush's first-debate scowls, Kerry in the Teletubbies NASA suit, soaring deficits, TV-pundit overload, serial hurricanes in Florida, the endless Peterson trial, Bernie Kerik's Ground Zero love nest. Two bright spots: the Red Sox finally won and hockey never started.
George W. Bush +
Voters thought the country
was on the wrong track and re-elected him
anyway. Congrats on confounding the CW.
Dick Cheney =
His crocodile tears over Kerry's
reference to gay daughter helped pull Bush
over the finish line. Cheer up, Chipper Dick!
