In the film "Spiderman," Peter Parker says of his Spidey powers: "This is my blessing. This is my curse." Well, I recently found out what mine is: I can eat close to two pounds of chicken wings in eight minutes.
Discovering my superpower began innocently enough. Earlier this year my friends invited me to "Battle to the Bone," a wing-eating competition at Madison Square Garden sponsored by Frank's RedHot Cayenne Pepper Sauce. We were all curious about what a competitive eating contest would be like, since we were familiar with the work of hot-dog-eating champ Takeru Kobayashi. "Would you like to participate?" the woman at the check-in counter asked us. My friends, who tend to volunteer me for the things they can't or won't do, eagerly signed me up....
