Love is far more present on this solo debut than she has been in court. She's back to her raw beginnings, screaming out pop-punk "melodies" over garagey, psychedelic guitar reverb. Her lyrics are smart, sarcastic, scathing and funny, especially when she sings about Julian Casablancas, the hipster heartthrob of the Strokes: "Remember when your phone went dead, well that was me on the other end." Be afraid, Julian, be very afraid.
