S. KOREA STILL FINDS CANCER-CAUSING CHEMICAL IN CHINESE FISH.
SEOUL, April 3 Asia Pulse - The carcinogenic chemical malachite green is still being found in imported fish from China despite stricter regulations to safeguard consumers, government officials said Monday.
According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, South Korea sent back or disposed of 40 tons of Chinese fish contaminated with malachite green this year, including 30 tons of flatfish, 5.5 tons of perch and 3.3 tons of snake-headed fish, the ministry said.
