SEOUL, April 3 Asia Pulse - South Korea's central bank should make a bold move in its monetary policy if such a step is required, the bank's new chief said Monday.
"Sometimes, the Bank of Korea should make bold decisions in its monetary policy," Lee Seong-tae said in his inaugural address at the central bank headquarters in Seoul.
"It is true that the central bank has to be careful in the rate decision, but it should not be late in taking appropriate actions," he said.
The comment comes as central bank policymakers are set to hold the monthly rate session Friday, the first session to be presided over by Lee, who replaced the previous governor Park Seung.
