SYDNEY, April 3 Asia Pulse - The number of jobs advertised on the internet has hit a record high on the back of a continuing skills shortage, a new survey shows.
The Olivier Internet Jobs Index rose 6.42 per cent in March, seasonally adjusted, with more than 215,000 jobs counted on the major jobs websites.
The gain adds to the 5.59 per cent rise in February.
Olivier Group director Robert Olivier said the rising number of jobs available will cushion the government's new industrial relations reforms.
"With so many jobs around, there couldn't be a better time, politically, to introduce the new federal WorkChoice reforms," Mr Olivier said.
