] MARITIME AND COASTGUARD AGENCY Duty Notice 1 1 April 2006 BLACKPOOL EMERGENCY SERVICES IN SEARCH FOR MALE SWEPT INTO THE SEA
At a quarter to three this morning Liverpool Coastguard received a call from the Police reporting that a thirty two year old man had been swept from the esplanade at Blackpool into the sea.
The call to the emergency services came from a friend of the missing man who was with him at the time.
They had been enjoying a takeaway meal after a night out.
Liverpool Coastguard who were co-ordinating the search immediately called out Coastguard search teams from Blackpool, Lytham St Annes and Fleetwood.
