The wife of one of the men accused of satanic ritual abuse of children on the Isle of Lewis has made an official complaint about the social work inspector in charge of the team that conducted an official probe into the case.

Penny Campbell is also demanding to know what sparked the allegations against nine people, including her husband Ian, and wants further examination of the methods used to investigate the claims that were made.

The Campbells have now hired a solicitor to review the case papers to see if legal action can be taken against Western Isles Council's social work department and the police.
