Newborn infants who underwent DeLee suction had no improvement in their clinical outcome, compared with those who had bulb suction, a retrospective study suggests.
The study included 230 infants, 115 of whom had DeLee suction. The remaining infants had bulb suction. Half of all deliveries occurred in the presence of thick meconium, said Dr. Terry S. Dunn of the Denver Health Medical Center, and associates (J. Reprod. Med. 46[tOJ:905-08, 2001).
