CHICAGO -- Anal sphincter tears during vaginal delivery increase the risk for persistent anal incontinence with subsequent vaginal deliveries.
Cesarean section should be considered for these women, Dr. Jan Zetterstrom said at the annual meeting of the American Urogynecologic Society cosponsored by Loyola University.
