It Wasn't the faint sound of sleigh bells in the distance that announced the arrival of Santa in Hull, but a marching brass band.

Father Christmas came to Princes Quay shopping centre on Saturday after a horse-drawn parade through the city centre.

Santa will be granting children's wishes in a grotto at the shopping centre until Christmas Eve.

Two-year-old Lily-May Bower was one of the first eager young children to hand over her Christmas wish list.

Mum Melissa Bower, of Preston, said: "We told her about visiting Santa so she was prepared for it.

"She is always a very good little girl so I am sure …
