The Chechen rebel web site Daymohk has praised the Toronto Globe and Mail newspaper for publishing an interview with the Chechen rebel leader Shamil Basayev. This decision, the site believes, means that there can no longer be any grounds for the west to close down the server of another rebel site, Kavkaz-Tsentr, which is accused of "aiding and abetting" terrorism. The following is the text of the article by Andrey Dubrov, sent from Vienna, entitled: "A major victory for the Chechen Resistance in the information war" and published on the Chechen news agency Daymohk web site on 8 November; subheadings have been inserted editorially:
