SYDNEY, Nov 8 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar was almost half a US cent stronger at noon today, its sharp offshore gains holding up in the face of some selling this morning after Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) comments.

At 1200 AEDT the local currency was at $US0.7615/20 US cents, compared to Friday's close of 0.7570/73.

This morning it traded in a $US0.7616-39 range.

Credit Suisse First Boston head of strategy Warren Hogan said local trading had been quite volatile this morning.
