PLANNING for Ireland's Future Housing Needs was the theme of a major housing conference held yesterday by the IHBA in conjunction with PlanExpo. Housing output in Ireland continues to break records on an annual basis. Outlook is expected to reach almost 80,000 units in 2004. The IHBA estimates that an additional 500,000/550,000 housing units will be built in the next ten year period. The total value of housing to be built in the next ten years is of the order of [euro]120 billion, at current prices.
