'Angels in America' is flawed but completely enjoyable.

THERE are a couple of angels, with and without wings, in the HBO miniseries, "Angels in America." They're not really the focal point in this six-hour long production, which tackles AIDS, homosexuality, religion and politics.

The scope is epic-but the issues are grounded in the realities of the lives of the characters. Based on Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Angels" is as long as its theatrical version, and was adapted for television by the playwright himself.
