Mar. 31--The correct way to experience the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra's Carnegie Hall celebration of Scotland on Tuesday was obviously with a tumbler in one hand. The soloist, Evelyn Glennie, grew up on a farm in Aberdeenshire. Two of the composers on the program are Scottish, too, and Felix Mendelssohn spent enough time there to harvest a "Scottish" Symphony. With such a peaty program, Orpheus sagely asked a whisky sommelier to match each piece to a specific single-malt Scotch....
