Musicals and comedies dominate the summer season at Plymouth's Theatre Royal.

The venue exclusively unveils its new programme in the Herald today - and the line-up features some select drama and dynamic new writing, as well as a smattering of opera and ballet. But it's the musicals which make up the majority of the shows on offer at the theatre between May and September, and the highlight of these is likely to be the theatre's own production of the evergreen Me and My Girl, which opens in Plymouth from September 1-9 ahead of a national tour and West End transfer.
