THE evolution of ship sizes and increasingly fast turnaround times have contributed to a marginal increase in bunker supply at the Port of Rotterdam in 2005, writes Neville Smith.
Figures released by Rotterdam Municipal Port Management show the world's second busiest bunkering port supplied 13.1m tonnes last year.
Some 20,140 bunker operations were carried out, a decrease of 4% on the previous year when 12.9m tonnes were supplied.
