INDONESIA'S ELECTRONIC SECTOR SEEN TO SLUMP BY 20-30% IN 2005

JAKARTA - Electronic good sales in Indonesia last year are estimated to have dropped by about 20-30 per cent as a result of weakening purchasing power, an executive said here yesterday.

Marketing Director of PT Samsung Electronic Indonesia (SEIN), Lee Kang Hyun, said consumers' weakened purchasing power was exacerbated by last October's fuel oil price hikes.
