- Telekom Malaysia's call to BK Modi just went through. Its wholly owned unit TM International is set to pick up a 49 per cent stake in the Modi controlled Spice Telecom with an enterprise valuation of around US$600 million, said sources. The foreign telecom operator will buyout Ashmore Investments and stake held by Deutsche Bank's investment banking arm in Spice Telecom, with Mr Modi retaining his 51 per cent for now. The deal is expected to be signed in Kuala Lumpur within a fortnight.
