INDONESIA DROPS IDEA OF EARLY REPAYMENT OF DEBT TO IMF.
JAKARTA, March 1 Asia Pulse - The government has decided to stop considering early repayment of its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and will go ahead with the original schedule, a minister said.
State Minister for National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta said the country's remaining debt of about US$7.8 billion to IMF will be settled in 2010.
Early repayment of the debt to IMF will dangerously reduce the country's foreign exchange reserve now around US$34 billion, Paskah said last weekend.
